Lesson 7 - Using a Pattern Table or Chart

Use this interactive activity to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning how to use a pattern table or chart. Students can try this activity on their own or in pairs.

 

Goals

Use a chart to organize information.

Identify a growing number pattern.

Identify relationships between growing number patterns.

 

Instructions for Use

 

Numbers on a Grid lets students find growing number patterns on a grid.

To use Numbers on a Grid, click on the grid. Numbers are highlighted in yellow. Click the first up arrow to increase the start number on the grid by 1, and click on the down arrow to decrease the start number by 1. Click on the second up arrow to increase the number of columns on the grid, and click on the down arrow to decrease the number of columns on the grid. Click on the third box to show multiples, and adjust the base using the up and down arrows. Click the "Reset" button to start again. Have students experiment to find growing number patterns.
