Lesson 3 - Making Patterns with Two Attributes

Use this interactive activity to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about making patterns with two attributes. Students  can try this activity on their own or in pairs.

Sort by 2 attributes.

Combine 2 attributes to create a pattern.

Instructions for Use

Pattern Blocks lets students build patterns using 2 or more attributes.

To use Pattern Blocks, create a pattern using two different attributes with the pattern blocks. Click on a shape and drag it onto the workspace. Continue dragging shapes to the workspace until you have completed your pattern.

To rotate a pattern block, click on the curved arrow. To select and drag pattern blocks again, click on the straight arrow. To remove a shape, drag it to the recycling bin. To erase the pattern entirely, click on the broom.
