Lesson 1 - Calendar Numbers

Use this Web page to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about calendar numbers. Students can try this activity on their own or in pairs.

Goals

Use ordinal numbers.

Relate dates on a calendar to days of the week.

Instruction for Use

Calendar prompts students to fill in events they would do in a month and create their own calendar to observe the placement and sequencing of numbers from 1 to 30.

To use Calendar, type in a title for the calendar. Add information to each day of the month. Click "Make My Calendar" button. Print off the calendar.

Ordinal Numbers prompts students to use ordinal numbers to describe positions.

To use Ordinal Numbers, click on a child or balloon to move it into the car. A yellow outline indicates which cars need to be filled. Repeat this until all the children have been placed in cars. Click the "play again" button to for different number combinations.
