Surf for More MathLesson 3 - Making PictographsUse these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about making pictographs. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs. GoalConstruct, label, and interpret simple pictographs using one-to-one correspondence. Instructions for UsePictographs provides students practice interpreting pictographs. To use Pictographs, have students read and solve the questions. Farm Animal Pictogram lets students construct a pictograph. To use Farm Animal Pictogram, have students select different animals from the list at the top. Create labels by typing animal names beside each picture and select the number of animals wanted by clicking the + and - signs on the right. Read a Pictograph helps students to understand simple pictographs using one-to-one correspondence. To use Read a Pictograph, click on the "Lesson 4.2 Read a Pictograph". Have students watch the animations and listen to the voice. When a screen is completed, click the arrow at the bottom of the page and move to the next screen.
