Lesson 6 - Measuring Perimeter

Use these interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about measuring perimeter. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs.

Goal

Estimate, measure, and record the perimeters of 2-D shapes in centimetres.

Instructions for Use

Perimeter prompts students to estimate, and measure perimeter.

To use Perimeter, click on the red rectangle below "Perimeter". Read the definition of perimeter and then click on the blue rectangle. Read the information and then click the "next" button. Click on the "Level 1" button. Input the perimeter of the shape in the text box and then click the "check" button to see if the answer is correct. Click the "next" button for the next question.

Perimeter Quiz lets students test their knowledge on finding perimeters.

To use Perimeter Quiz, select a level and answer each question by clicking the button beside the correct answer. Press the "Next" button to move to the next question. Once you have finished the quiz you can see how many of the questions you answered correctly.
